Founded in 1993 by one woman with a fierce intention to help other women overcome their battle with addiction, Safe Harbor quickly became nationally recognized as a leader in the forefront of women’s addition. Now, more than two decades later, we have transformed thousands of women’s lives. Women thrive when they feel safe and unconditionally loved. This is the essence of our programs.
We have held true to our mission, that is to heal the whole woman- mind, body and spirit; to recover from more than just the addiction, but also co-occurring mood disorders, eating disorders, co-dependency, and sex and love addiction. We believe life-skills are a necessity to living in recovery and want every woman to thrive during and after her stay at Safe Harbor.
It is our belief that addiction is merely a symptom of an underlying problem… A “Soul Sickness.” We employ a staff of nearly all women, all of who are trained to specialize in the field of women’s addiction. Our experienced clinicians will assist women in identifying underlying beliefs and self-destructive behaviors, which no longer serve them. Women will receive love and support while being educated and gaining the skills and strength they need for lasting sobriety.
We recognize that each woman who comes through our doors has individual gifts and beauty. By courageously exploring her past and envisioning her future, each woman will move through our programs with a restored belief in herself and the world in which she lives. Safe Harbor Treatment Centers for Women is the beginning of a return to a life of purpose and meaning.
